Tell us what you think of this beach
Golden Bay is a relatively developed beach especially when compared to the more rural neighbouring beach at Ghajn Tuffieha. Golden Bay as the name suggests has a wide sandy beach, backed by a steep cliff and with a large hotel at one end - the Radisson Golden Sands Hotel. The beach has a lifeguard, sun lounger rental, watersports and refreshments during the summer months and is very popular with both tourists and locals. So popular that you may want to avoid it at busy times during the summer months if you prefer quiet beaches. If the wind is on shore from the north west it can get a bit wavey for swimming and watch out for the currents at those times and pay attention to the lifeguard flags.
Golden Bay is best visited during June, July, August and September when both the sea temperature and air temperature make for a perfect day at the beach. In April and May sunbathing will be pleasant but the low sea temperature will make swimming a little bracing.
