If you are sailing, windsurfing, fishing, surfing etc. in St. Peter’s Pool don't forget to check the tide and wind and wave conditions
St. Peter's Pool is a stunning natural swimming pool located on the southern coast of Malta. It is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike, especially during the summer months. Here are some details about the beach and what you can expect during your holiday:
St. Peter's Pool is a rocky beach with crystal clear water. There is no sand here, but the rocks make for great sunbathing spots and provide ample opportunities for snorkeling and diving. The fish are attracted to the rocky terrain, making it an ideal spot for underwater exploration.
Snorkeling and diving are the most popular activities at St. Peter's Pool due to its unique underwater landscape. You can also go cliff jumping from some of the rock formations around the pool, but be sure to check for safety first.
There are no beach resorts or hotels directly at St. Peter's Pool, but there are many options nearby in Marsaxlokk or Birżebbuġa. Both areas offer a range of accommodations to fit any budget.
If you're looking for a quieter stay, Birżebbuġa is recommended as it has a more laid-back atmosphere compared to the busier Marsaxlokk. However, Marsaxlokk has more dining and entertainment options if you prefer a livelier atmosphere.
As this is a natural beach, there are no amenities such as showers or changing rooms available here. It's recommended that you bring your own food and drinks as there are no restaurants or bars either.
Overall, St. Peter's Pool is an excellent destination if you're looking for an offbeat holiday experience in Malta with lots of opportunities for adventure and relaxation alike!
Tell us what you think of this beach
St Peter's Pool is a beautiful rocky cliff area perfect for diving and playing in the sea for those confident in swimming, you can also sunbathe here but only on the rock itself. You won't find sunbeds and other facilities, so bring your own refreshments just incase. The roads leading here are rough and accessiblity not easy so it's rarely a crowded spot even during peak times.
The Blue Lagoon is best visited during June, July, August and September when both the sea temperature and air temperature make for a perfect day at the beach. In April and May sunbathing will be pleasant but the low sea temperature will make swimming a little bracing.
